Specific Process

Preparation method: air drying method

In order to maintain the special taste of golden promise barley, the glenavont adopts air drying method. Unlike peat drying, air dried barley does not absorb fuel or any flavor from the ground. In the process of malting liquor, barley should be dried to prevent barley sprouting. Unlike other single distillery malt whiskies, they use spicy peat smoke to dry malt, and consistently adhere to the air drying method to dry malt raw materials.

The distillery, located at the junction of low land and high area, is very close to the low land. In addition, it was originally set up as a three-time distillation when the factory was founded, but later it was changed to a two-time distillation. I thought that the original wine should be fine and refreshing, but it is not. It has inherited the equipment of three times of distillation, one primary distillation, two secondary distillation configurations, and the super large primary distillation machine, coupled with the super small re distillation machine, has produced a strong and oily wine.

Cask Strength

Original barrel strength, referred to as cask strength. Barrel strong whisky refers to whisky that is directly filled from oak barrels without water dilution. A barrel of strong whisky is not necessarily a single barrel, and a barrel of whisky is not necessarily a barrel of strong whisky.

The glenavont is a barrel strong whisky. The alcohol content is usually between 55%-60% abv. The aroma and taste of whisky are mainly caused by different combinations of organic substances such as esters, aldehydes, phenols, etc. most of them are easily soluble in ethanol, that is, alcohol. Simply put, the higher the alcohol content, the more organic substances that provide aroma and taste can be brought. Therefore, in terms of taste and aroma, whiskies with high alcohol precision are more and stronger than those with low alcohol precision.

Tong Qiang is also the most able to get close to the most primitive brewing scenery, which can reflect the taste of whisky in the barrel and the style of the distillery to the greatest extent. It is considered to be the most original.
